Find out what is deemed as a critical incident, what support is available and how to report incidents.

Critical incident support

We are experienced in managing critical incidents through our Essex Educational Psychology Service (EPS).

The support you will receive will be agreed upon between yourself, the educational psychologists (EPS) from our critical incident response team and the other services involved.

EPS can provide the following support:

  • advice - including developing and reviewing support plans, providing training and signposting to other resources and services
  • assessment - including assessing likely impacts of incidents
  • identification - including identifying vulnerable pupils and staff
  • prioritisation - including prioritising actions and resources to deal with incidents
