Overview
Critical incidents are deemed as anything which seriously disrupts and overwhelms the normal running of your school or education setting.
They can cause high levels of distress and include:
- deaths through accidents, murder, suicide or terminal illness
- serious accidents involving children, young people or staff members on or off the premises
- events witnessed outside of the school or setting, for example, serious accidents or assaults
- significant community events, for example, terrorist incidents or transport accidents
