Physical and neurological impairment (PNI)

Before PNI specialist teacher involvement can take place, the following evidence must be provided:

• a physical difficulty and/or medical need which creates a significant barrier to a child or young person (CYP) accessing a setting and/or learning
• a setting needs to make reasonable adjustments above and beyond what is needed for any other CYP in the setting
• a significant need for specialist equipment and/or adaptations to the physical environment
