Prevent guidance and support

DSLs should be aware of the Prevent process in Essex for education settings. They should also be aware of the following:

Information about the local risk and threats in Essex are sent out to headteachers and DSLs via our safeguarding forums run by our Education Safeguarding Team.

This Essex Prevent Multi-Agency Group has strategic oversight of Prevent in Essex and provides direction and coordination to deliver on the Prevent agenda.

The education lead for Prevent attends the strategic group to represent education.

The multi-agency Channel Panel in Essex meets monthly and is attended by the education lead for Prevent along with senior managers from other key agencies.
