Available SLCN training and courses.

We offer the following 3 SLCN training programmes.

ELKLAN

Elklan writes and delivers accredited courses for education and other staff working with those with SLCN and for parents.

It trains a network of licensed tutors to deliver Elklan courses locally. All courses are evidence-informed and teach strategies listed on the What Works database.

The following Elklan courses are available for different age groups and populations:

  • 3 to 5 years
  • 5 to 11 years
  • 11 to 16 years
  • Post 16
  • Vulnerable young people

Talk Boost

Talk Boost is a targeted and evidenced-based intervention supporting language-delayed children to make significant progress with language and communication skills.

It’s tailored to different key stages with training available for the following stages:

  • Early years
  • Key state 1
  • Key stage 2

Level 4 Award in Supporting Children and Young People with SLCN

This accredited course is designed to build knowledge and confidence and develop a range of practical skills to fulfil a school-based support role for children and young people with SLCN.
