Accredited SENCO courses

These courses offer accredited qualifications including those that are mandatory for new-to-role SENCOs. For example, the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO).

National Professional Qualification (NPQ) for SENCOs

Eastern Partnership UK (SEND) is proud to be working in collaboration with Essex SEND Leads to a provide the NPQ for SENCOs, the new mandatory qualification for new-to-role and aspiring SENCOs from autumn 2024.

We bring our considerable expertise from 15 years of running the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) to this new and innovative NPQ programme.

Eastern Partnership UK (SEND) is working in partnership with CEFEL a DfE accredited highly respected NPQ Lead Provider for all schools. This enables us to:

•    actively contribute to the curriculum content by being part of the writing team
•    deliver the 18-month programme in collaboration with SEND specialists within Essex following a well-honed NPQ cycle of Activate, Teach, Practice and Apply.

•     *Please note - coaching will form an important element of this blended programme enabling participants to benefit from local knowledge and build strong networks.

We will ensure you have access to:

•    SEND experts throughout the 18-month NPQ for SENCOs programme. 
•    Coaches who have both leadership of SEND expertise and a high level of national and local knowledge

Importantly, for those wanting to go on to further studies beyond the NPQ for SENCOs, Eastern Partnership UK (SEND) works with the University of Bolton who can provide Recognition of Prior Certificated Learning (RPCL) to enable you to study for the:

•    Advanced SENCO Award (30 M level credits)
or 
•    Leadership in SEND and Inclusion Award (30 M Level credits)

•    Progress onto the segue course to the dissertation known as Critical Enquiry and Reflection (30 M level credits)
•    Complete the dissertation (60 M level credits) 
•    Gain the MEd Professional Development in Education
