This course will apply up-to-date research to support the practical development of pupils’ metacognition and memory.
This training will enable participants to:
- develop their understanding of metacognition, and how to model effective metacognitive strategies throughout teaching
- support pupils to use effective metacognitive strategies to enhance their own learning
- develop understanding of different types of memory, with particular reference to working memory
- use more effective memory strategies throughout teaching and learning, including metamemory development
- know how to identify and support pupils who present with memory difficulties
- plan how to strategically implement this content in their setting

This course will be run virtually. Details of how to join the online training will be emailed to participants who have booked, a few days prior to each training session.

Participants must be able to attend all 3 dates for their chosen term’s course as the sessions each give new information and build on each other.
