Infrastructure delivery

The most tangible evidence of the team’s work comes in the form of capital schemes to provide new schools, expansion’s and re-modelled facilities at schools.

These are a mixture of ‘Basic Need’, ‘Special Schools’ and ‘Early Years Centers’ schemes all of which form part of the Council’s statutory obligation to provide places within the approved capital program.

A team of Programme Managers, and Project Managers work with commissioners, schools and consultants to develop schemes which meet the long-term strategic planning needs of schools within the resources available.

The scope of work ranges across the full spectrum of delivery to ensure that schemes are managed and delivered to approved timescales and budgets. This includes:

• schools sufficiency in long-term strategic plan
• budget setting
• feasibility studies
• procurement
• management of consultants, contractors and design
• building contract management
• Trusts/Schools and stakeholder management
• delivery to complete
