Data Protection Officer (DPO) Service
We provide an award-winning Data Protection Officer (DPO) service, designed to help schools meet data protection requirements.
GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) requires all schools to have this statutory role.
The DPO role can be carried out by 1 of the following:
- staff within your school
- an appointed DPO between a group of schools
- a service delivered by a provider
We provide this service through our Information Governance Support (IGS) service which includes the following:
- unlimited advice and guidance from our helpdesk
- an annual compliance audit with documents to prove compliance
- statutory request completion service for FOI, EIR and subject access requests
- an annual governors and trustees report
- virtual GDPR training for all staff
- point of contact for the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
- ICO complaint handling
- a library of pre-completed Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
We also offer a Lite Support Service for schools that have their own DPO but need extra advice and guidance.
We also provide help for early years settings. For more information visit our IGS Services for Early Years Providers web page.
