All children, regardless of circumstances should receive a good education.
The local authority has a responsibility to provide suitable full-time education (or as much education as the child's health condition allows) for children of compulsory school age, who, because of health reasons, would otherwise not receive a suitable education.
Schools should make appropriate referrals to the local authority including relevant medical advice, if available.
