Request a school crossing patrol
How to get help with difficult crossing locations.
You should only request a school crossing patrol to help with difficult crossings. They will not be provided to help with inconsiderate driving or poor parking.
Make a request
To request a school crossing patrol, you need to supply the following details:
- the area of concern
- any previous or ongoing problems
- a specific location point at which most pedestrians cross the road
Include these details as part of your request and email the details to our School Crossing Patrol Team schoolcrossingpatrol@essex.gov.uk
Next steps
We will carry out a traffic and pedestrian count to find out if the site meets our initial crossing patrol criteria.
If the counts meet our criteria, we will contact you to discuss the next steps for having a patrol.
If our criteria are not met, we can recommend other measures to promote and support safer journeys to school.
