The Education Transport and Awards Team assess applications for home to school transport, free school meals and uniform grants.
Free School Meals
Parents can apply via Healthy Living School Meals on the Essex County Council website. If parents need support to complete the application, you can also access the online form via Info link on our Free School Meals page.
For a change in circumstances – eg change of pupil address or school, parents can e-mail the team at the address below including: pupil name, date of birth, new address and previous address with effective date.
Paper applications are no longer available.
Our traded service with academies (to carry out entitlement checks for their pupils applying for free school meals) continues to expand as more academies recognise the benefits of the Council carrying out this task efficiently. We now provide this service to over 140 academies - reducing admin for busy school staff.
If you need to access any information on how many of your pupils are eligible for free school meals, this information is only available on the secure area of Infolink and is not available from the Council's customer service centre.
