Funding

In line with grant and government statutory guidance designated teachers (DTs) for CiC at each education setting must make sure of the following:

• planned interventions and linked PP+ costs are on PEPs each term
• the virtual school top slices 20% of the grant and uses this to fund its interventions and projects and respond to extra requests
• the virtual school reviews the top slice throughout the year
• the virtual school update DTs during the financial year

The PEP and virtual school operational lead must review all requests. There may be a need for further discussion between the virtual school team and school staff.

Once agreed by the virtual school, payments to schools and academies are processed.

The process for young people in registered alternative provision (with places commissioned either by schools or Essex County Council) is the same as previously outlined.
