Removing pupils from roll

Schools wishing to remove any pupil from their roll need to ensure that they adhere to The Education (Pupil Registration) Regulations 2006 and subsequent amendments.

Part 22 and 23 of the document: 'Ensuring a good education for children who cannot attend school because of health needs' clarifies the situation with regard to pupils with medical needs. This document can be found in our Useful Links and on the DfE website.

Pupils who have been referred to a PRU as a positive referral would normally remain on the school roll and should only be removed from roll following discussions with the school, the PRU and the parents (and pupil where appropriate).
